Welcome to My Planted Plate!
Hi! I’m Maeve and I’m so glad you found my website! I’m in love with veggies and believe that they can be the star of every plate. I’m passionate about creating healthy foods and recipes that not only taste amazing, but make you feel amazing as well. I believe that with a little bit of brainstorming, I can find nutritious and delicious vegetarian dishes that you can make easily in your own kitchen. The recipes here are easy, affordable, healthy, and without a doubt delectable, and I can’t wait for you to try some out!
Why I created This Blog
Way back when, I was an itty-bitty toddler that was a parents nightmare at the dinner table. As soon as I could associate what was on my plate with an animal, I did NOT want to eat it! I stuck my tongue out at fish, pushed away my plate of turkey, and wouldn’t even touch my chicken nuggets (although the occasional dino shaped one might sometimes slip in :)). It was at that Kindergarten age that I started calling myself a “vegetarian.”
Now, ten years later, I’ve stuck to this lifestyle and I love every part about it. It feels so reassuring to know that I’m not contributing to the billions upon billions of deaths of animals for food every year. I’ve had a lot of time to put my own vegetarian twists on different recipes that I see on Pinterest, at restaurants, and around the world. Now, I’m finally here to share them with you!
I’ve been wanting to set up my own food blog for over a year now, and I’m so glad it’s finally coming together! I’ve always kept an eye out for different ways to use ingredients, and I’m so excited to finally share these amazingly healthy recipes with all of you!
Who I Am
I’m Maeve Holmberg, and I’m currently a sophomore in high school. I play basketball, softball, I look forward to skiing in Utah with my family every year, and I love hiking through the mountains. Above that all, my most passionate interest is cooking.
Being a vegetarian, I’ve been able to expand my tastes, and I love experimenting with new and different ingredients/vegetables. This being said, cooking is my biggest hobby, and I love the boost of confidence I get when a recipe turns out just the way I hoped.
I live in Illinois with my twin brother, my two little sisters, my parents, and my dog, Bella (she’s in charge of vacuuming the messes I make)! Although none of them are vegetarian, they’re still my taste-testers for all my recipes. No plates get posted without their picky-veggie approval.
